The English GardeN features Colm Joseph Gardens

Colm Joseph has created his first Chelsea exhibit in the Great Pavilion, where The Perennial Lifeline Garden celebrates the 180-year anniversary of Perennial – a charity that helps horticulturists in times of need.
The Perennial Lifeline Garden won a silver-gilt medal and is a contemporary interpretation of Sir Roy Strong’s classical garden, The Laskett, which Sir Roy has agreed to bequeath to Perennial. “We want to capture the spirit of The Laskett, rather than try to mimic it, by taking an idea Sir Roy Strong is committed to, that gardens shouldn’t be museums and things can be changed,” says Colm. “So although his garden is very classical, we’ve taken quite a modern, radical spin on some of its ideas. I think we really have captured its spirit.”
